It is very smart for this Missouri probate commissioner, Daniel Wheeler to step in during this custody battle over Jovan Belcher's child, Zoey. It is not fair since millions of dollars have been allegedly donated by the Kansas Chiefs for Zoey's welfare, suddenly Kasandra Perkins' parents wants custody of the child. They were not even present before and after the murder-suicide. As we all know, Jovan Belcher asked his mother to move into his home to care for baby Zoey before he committed murder-suicide.
When is it ever going to come a time when kin folks use wisdom when it comes to children? The baby is left without her parents, because her father's brain was allegedly injured from playing football, so when he allegedly suspected the mother could have been pregnant by another man, he snapped and took Kasandra's life, not thinking what damage it was cause to leave Zoey. However, it is unfair for her parents to suddenly step in and take his mother's right away, after she is left grieving for Jovan, including his girlfriend. Also, Cheryl Shephard was left holding the baby, after he murdered his girlfriend. Common sense would tell the family of Perkins, NFL players' do not think right, after they have played the game for so long and Belcher is not the first, there have been other cases that involved football players committing suicide, because of their injured brains, which our sister blog mentioned in a previous article.
In the meantime, our prayers are with Cheryl Shephard and baby Zoey, including the Perkins' family.
