Hello YoYo Mamas,

At the November meeting it was decided that starting in January we will trade Candy Bars!

I know it sounds yummy!

But it really is fabric Candy bars...

The size is 4 1/2 X 6 1/2

The Color is Brights...not neon just really cute brights.

We decided on Polka Dots and Stripes...

SO you will need to bring 1 of a polka dot and 1 of a stripe for 16 people.

This will start in January and will run for 6 months.

Strawberry Syrup

Here is a recipe to go with the fun thing Rosanna is doing in club on Wednesday!

Easy Strawberry Syrup

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1 1/2 cups mashed unsweetened strawberries

In a saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil. Gradually add strawberries; return to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over pancakes, waffles or ice cream.

"Home of the Brave"

Update on our quilts for the families of fallen soldiers. I have received some great quilt blocks, thank you so much. Our state is behind by about 15 families. The traditional block for "Home of the Brave", is a Civil War block. You can find the pattern on the web as Instructions for "Home of the Brave" quilts. These are made from Civil War or Thimbleberries fabrics. I will accept either block, the quilt must measure 60" X 84" or 5 X 7 blocks.

I will be conducting an Open Sew In at, My Sister's Quilts, on April 2nd 2 pm-5pm, also on April 19th 6pm-8pm. Bring your machine and scraps, there will be chocolate and a prize for each friend you bring. Thanks, Pat

This will be my first year going and I'm really excited about it.

Knitted ruffle scarf

To start the scarf, cast on 30 stitches and knit 2 rows.
Next, *knit 13 stitches and back, followed by knitting 11 stitches and back, 7 stitches and back, and finally 4 stitches and back.
Last step, is to knit all the way across* and repeat until it's the length you desire.
You will need 2 skeins and I used #10 needles. Pat

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Its so cold out side and we all need to warm up with something yummy.
So I thought I would share this recipe.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

1 pound ground beef

1 onion, chopped

1 (16 ounce) can chili beans, with liquid

1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans with liquid

1 (15 ounce) can whole kernel corn, with liquid

1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce

2 cups water

2 (14.5 ounce) cans peeled and diced tomatoes

1 (4 ounce) can diced green chile peppers

1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix

In a medium skillet, cook the ground beef until browned over medium heat. Drain, and set aside.

Place the ground beef, onion, chili beans, kidney beans, corn, tomato sauce, water, diced tomatoes, green chile peppers and taco seasoning mix in a slow cooker. Mix to blend, and cook on Low setting for 8 hours.

This is a quick, throw together slow cooker soup with a Mexican flair. Serve topped with corn chips, shredded Cheddar cheese and a dollop of sour cream. Make sure you adjust the amount of chile peppers if you're sensitive about spicy foods."

This is where we will share what we are doing, whats going on in our club and post anything we want too! We are a fun group of women who meet once a month to share ideas and enjoy each others company.
